How Signal works

Where your data comes from

Signal only ever works with data you bring it yourself. The quickest way is the Signal bookmarklet: it reads the LinkedIn profile or search page you are already looking at, the moment you click it. No export, no upload. To score your whole network at once, you can also upload the Connections.csv and Shares.csv from LinkedIn's official data download. Signal never scrapes LinkedIn, never logs into your LinkedIn account, and never connects to a third party data broker. The only data in the system is data you provide.

How scoring works

Signal scores each contact against your specific offer using a linear scoring model. Each feature contributes a transparent, additive weight to the final score. There is no black box. This approach follows the equal weighting research by Dawes (1979) and the fast and frugal heuristics work of Gigerenzer and Goldstein (1996), which show that simple linear models consistently match or outperform complex ones in real world prediction tasks. You can see exactly why each contact scored the way they did.

How drafts are generated

When you request a draft, Signal passes your voice profile, the contact's enrichment data, and your offer context to Claude (by Anthropic). Claude generates a personalised draft in your writing style, following patterns extracted from your own historical messages. The draft appears in your queue for review. You decide whether to use it, edit it, or discard it. You then copy the final text and paste it into LinkedIn yourself. Signal never sends messages on your behalf.

What Signal does NOT do

• Signal does not scrape LinkedIn or any other platform.
• Signal does not send messages for you. You review each draft, copy it, and send it yourself.
• Signal does not connect to your LinkedIn account or use your credentials.
• Signal does not perform bulk operations of any kind.
• Signal does not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
• Signal does not store your LinkedIn password or access token.

Safeguards and generation caps

Each plan includes a monthly drafting limit to prevent misuse. Solo accounts can write up to 30 drafts per month. Operator accounts can write up to 200. Studio accounts have unlimited drafting. These caps reset on the first day of each calendar month. Signal also monitors for patterns consistent with misuse and reserves the right to suspend accounts that violate the acceptable use policy.

How to delete your account

You can permanently delete your account from the Settings page at any time. Deletion removes all your data from our systems, cancels any active subscription, and cannot be undone. You can also request deletion by emailing [email protected].
